I just returned home from a wonderful, relaxing vacation in the mountains of North Carolina. My aunt and uncle have a home in Flat Rock, NC (which is in Western NC near Asheville) and me & my mom went up to visit and see some Fall color. Unfortunately, because of the heat and lack of rain, the leaves are just now beginning to change so there was very little color to be seen. Bummer. Oh well, it was great to get out of the Florida heat and humidity for a few days and enjoy some breathtaking scenery. We spent a day in Highlands and Cashiers. I actually didn't take a lot of photos, which is surprising. But here are a few of ONE tree I managed to find that was starting to change.

Greg, Lori & Avery

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Greg & Lori and their ADORABLE little girl, Avery, in their hometown of St. Augustine. Greg and Lori are good friends with my good friend, Melissa, who drove me up to photograph them on Sunday. We thought their Alma Mater, Flagler College, and the beautiful historic town of St. Augustine would be a great setting for photos. How often does it rain in Florida on a Sunday morning??! Uh, never. But figures, of all days it decides to downpour! Oh well, we made the best of it. And how cute is Avery??! Oh my gosh, just look at those eyes!! She is just precious!! The bottom two photos are of Melissa's daughter Madison, who is 2 1/2 and absolutely gorgeous. We're going to go up again in December and try for better weather, but here are a few of my faves. Just starting to post-process them so keep checking back for more!!

Emma and Zoey

I had a blast photographing Emma and Zoey on Sunday morning for portraits that are going to be a surprise for their daddy (luckily he doesn't read my Blog!). Emma is about to turn 4 and Zoey is 19 months. How cute are these two little girls?!?!?! I think we have two future supermodels on our hands! They were SO good and did such a great job for me! And it was such a beautiful morning; breezy and sunny with a touch of Fall in the air. Here are a few of my faves. I have SO many faves, they all turned out soooooo good!!

Flickr Mixer

Once a month, the Central Florida Flickrs group gets together and does group shoots at different locations all over Central Florida. This month it was held at the Marriott in downtown Orlando, across from the O-Rena. We had beautiful models and did an awesome "Trash the Dress" session in the fountain at the O-Rena! Thanks SO much to Jake Carter and Lori Barbely (two awesome photographers) for organizing this month's event. And to Nick Haskins for getting up at the crack of dawn and driving all the way from Tampa! I had a blast, as usual!

Sunrise

I live on a lake here in Orlando and the first thing I do when I get up in the morning is make coffee and then walk outside to feed the ducks. I walked out this morning and there was the most incredible sunrise. Gorgeous colors reflecting on the lake. I had to grab my camera and take a shot. This is straight out of the camera; no photoshopping done on this.

I've Been "Tagged"

5. I broke my right wrist snowboarding in Breckenridge once. I've never been on another snowboard since. Love to ski though. I'll stick with 2 feet on 2 boards.

2. I lost my father to cancer in 1999. I miss him SO much. He loved photography and I hope I'm making him proud.

1. I'm a total gadget nerd. I have to have the latest and greatest gadgets as soon as they hit the shelves!!! I cannot begin to tell you how nuts I'm going that I DON'T have the iPhone because I'm with T-Mobile and not AT&T. UGH. But I have already ordered the iPod Touch for its arrival on September 28th though!!!!

Cassie & AJ say "I DO"

On Sunday, Cassie and AJ said "I DO" on the beach in Ponce Inlet, FL. They are not only the cutest couple, but also the coolest. Nothing like a little thunderstorm was going to damper their special day! And did it ever rain! Everyone got soaked but a little rain couldn't stop this party. Cassie's mom is a very good friend of mine and I was honored when she asked me to be a part of it. CONGRATS to both of you and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
